“Progress thrives on discipline,not destruction ”: Chaman Singh Project Director

Nawanshahr 26 December (Harinder Singh) Under the inspiring leadership of Shivdular Singh Dhillon (IAS retd.) Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab state branch, Chandigarh, and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan , Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), Nawanshahr organized an anti-drug awareness camp at temple of village Bhanun (Saroya block, Nawanshahr). This camp was presided by Paramjit Kaur Sarpanch While addressing the villagers, Chaman Singh (Project Director, IRCA) said that The Red Cross functions as a global humanitarian network providing emergency relief, disaster response, and health services, focusing on saving lives. It provides blood services, health/safety training (First Aid, CPR) etc. it works as an auxiliary to public authorities in crises and promoting principles like neutrality, impartiality, and humanity. He said that drug abuse derails personal progress, trapping individuals in a cycle of dependency that undermines ambition and achievement. Substance abuse leads to plummeting productivity, fractured relationships, and lost opportunities. Sobriety restores clarity, reigniting passions—former addicts become CEOs, authors, or advocates. Stories of comebacks illustrate resilience. Ultimately, shunning drugs unlocks limitless potential. He said that progress thrives on discipline, not destruction—choose sobriety to build the life you envision. Kamaljeet Kaur (Counselor, IRCA), Sham Lal, Amarjit Singh, Jaspal, Kewal Singh Balvir Kaur, Sita Devi and villagers were present on this occasion.
