Nawanshahr 19th February(Harinder Singh) Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts (IRCA), Nawanshahr organized a drug awareness camp under “Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan” at Shri Guru Ravidas Gurdwara of village Gujarpur Khurd (Banga block). This camp was presided by. Lakhvir Chand (Sarpanch). While communicating with the audience, Chaman Singh (Project Director, IRCA) said that many young people fall into drug menace because of peer pressure, curiosity, stress, and the desire to look cool. Sometimes they face family problems, academic pressure, or loneliness, and drugs seem like an easy escape. Media and social networks also sometimes show drugs in a glamorous way, which misleads young minds. But drugs destroy health, dreams, families, and even lives. They take away the future of our youth and weaken our society. To save young people, we must educate them about the dangers of drugs. Parents and teachers should talk openly, guide them with love, and listen to their problems. Youth should be encouraged to join sports, cultural activities, and community work so they stay busy in positive ways. He said that strong friendships, good role models, and counseling services can also help those who are already affected. He said that a drug-free youth means a strong and bright nation and together, we can protect our future. Kamaljeet Kaur (Counselor, IRCA), Kuldeep Kaur (ASHA worker), Jagdeep Singh, Satwinder Kaur, Sohan Singh (numberdar), Meenu, Rani, Jaswinder Kaur, Mandeep Singh, Paramjit Singh, Satnam Singh, Jaswinder Pal, Bimla Devi and other villagers were present on this occasion.
