Krishi Vigyan Kendra Langroya organized an awareness camp on paddy stubble management at Sikh National Collegiate Senior Secondary School Banga

Nawanshahr November 13 (Harinder Singh) Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Langroya, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized an awareness camp on paddy stubble management for the students of Sikh National Collegiate Senior Secondary School Banga on November 12. In which 100 students participated. This camp was organized under the able guidance of Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Director (Training). Ruby, Lecturer (English) welcomed the KVK team and enlightened the students about the seriousness of the subject of stubble management. First of all, Renu Bala, Demonstrator (Home Science) enlightened the functioning of PAU Ludhiana and the activities being carried out by the farmers at Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Dr. Rajinder Kaur, Assistant Professor (Home Science) also explained in detail about the damage caused by burning of paddy straw and the importance of various elements present in the paddy straw. She also motivated the school students to play an important role in this awareness campaign. She informed the students about the courses going on at PAU regarding the study of agriculture and about getting admission. During this, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Director (Training) explained the importance of stubble management for the students. He also explained the benefits of mixing the stubble residue in the field itself and the related machinery to the students in detail. On this occasion, Krishi Vigyan Kendra also organized speech and painting competitions to create awareness among the students about the damage caused by burning of paddy straw. Various competitions were held under the supervision of experts of Krishi Vigyan Kendra and school staff. On this occasion, a student also presented a beautiful poem regarding stubble management. Students participated in these competitions with great enthusiasm and the guests also honored the winning students to encourage them. At the end of the program, Dr. Tarsem Singh, College Principal, Jatinder Mohan, School In-charge, Ruby and Manmeet Kaur, Punjabi teachers thanked the experts who came.
