
Nawanshahr 13th November (Harinder Singh) Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Langroya, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized an awareness camp for the students of PM Shri. Senior Secondary School, Rahon on 13th November under the paddy stubble management campaign. In which 522 school students participated. This cup was organized under the able leadership of Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Director (Training). Inaugurating the program, Shri Satnam Singh Biology Lecturer welcomed the KVK team from the school and enlightened the students about the seriousness of the subject of stubble management. First of all, Renu Bala Demonstrator (Home Science) shed light on the performance of PAU Ludhiana and the activities being carried out at Krishi Vigyan Kendra towards agriculture. Dr. Rajinder Kaur, Assistant Professor (Home Science) also spoke in detail about the damage caused by burning of paddy straw and the importance of various elements present in paddy straw. She also motivated the school students to play an important role in this awareness campaign. She informed the students about the courses being run at PAU and about admission in the field. During this, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Deputy Director (Training) told about the importance of straw management for the students. He also gave valuable information to the students about the benefits of mixing the straw residue in the field itself and the related machinery. On this occasion, Krishi Vigyan Kendra also organized speech, poetry and painting competitions to create awareness among the students about the damage caused by burning of paddy straw. Various competitions were held under the supervision of experts from Krishi Vigyan Kendra and school staff. On this occasion, the school girls also presented a play on the conservation of stubble. Students participated enthusiastically in these competitions and the guests who came also honored the winning students to encourage them. At the end of the program, Satnam Singh Biology Lecturer from the school thanked the visiting KK experts and also honored them. All the staff members of the school, Davinder Kaur, Satnam Singh, Gursharandeep, Ajit Singh, Charanjit Singh, Harjinder Lal, Rajan Rana, Satinder Kaur and Gaganpreet Kaur, etc. contributed fully to make this program a success.
